Use this 10-point checklist when specifying steel bunk beds for worker dormitories, student housing, hostels and camp accommodation.
- Capacity per room. Bunk beds give two berths in one footprint - the fastest way to raise bed count per m2.
- Load rating. Specify SGS load testing at 200 kg per berth for standard dormitory use; heavier-duty builds are available.
- Dimensions. Confirm bed length (typically ~1900-2000 mm) and clearances against your room layout.
- Guardrails. Upper-berth guardrail height to EN 747; no climbable gaps on the open side.
- Frame. Welded steel tube, wall thickness around 0.8-1.2 mm for standard models.
- Finish. Anti-rust powder coating for daily commercial cleaning and long service life.
- Packing. KD (knock-down) flat-pack maximises container yield - 260-540 sets per 40HQ.
- Standards. Reference EN 747 for bunk-bed safety, CE marking and ISO 9001:2015 for the manufacturer.
- Lead time & MOQ. Plan for 25-30 days production and a 50-set MOQ per model or order.
- Documentation. Ask for SGS reports, QC records and a factory profile before issuing the PO.
