How to assemble a metal bunk bed
A knock-down (KD) metal bunk bed assembles in about 15-25 minutes for a two-person team with the tools supplied. Steps: lay out carton parts, bolt the two side rails to the leg posts, fit the bed base slats, add the ladder and guardrails, then place the upper berth and tighten. Step-by-step
1. Unpack and check parts
Open the flat-pack carton, confirm all posts, rails, slats, ladder, guardrails, bolts and the wrench are present against the packing list.
2. Build the lower frame
Bolt the side rails to the four leg posts using the supplied hardware; keep bolts finger-tight until the frame is square.
3. Fit the bed base
Place the metal slats or mesh base across the lower frame and secure them so the sleeping surface is even.
4. Add ladder and guardrails
Attach the ladder to one end and the guardrails to the open sides of the upper position per the EN 747 layout.
5. Raise the upper berth and tighten
Assemble the upper frame on the floor, lift it onto the lower posts, then fully tighten every bolt and check for wobble.
